Written by Ashley Hovanes

Overview: Here's how to create and use a separate check-back sequence to re-engage qualified contacts after they have completed their original email sequence.

Note: These steps are for once all contacts have completed a sequence.

Step 1: Create the New Check-Back Sequence

  • Create a new sequence from scratch.

  • Give it a clear name that connects it to the original sequence. For example:
    [Original Sequence Name] – Check-Back

  • Add the two approved check-back emails. These were previously referred to as Email #5 and Email #6.

  • Confirm that the step-delay between the two emails is correct.

  • Set the sequence’s sending schedule to:

    • Friday

    • Sunday

  • Review and save the sequence.

Step 2:

Note: The below are recommended filters to re-engage your contacts, but you may want to customize (Example: Only re-engage contacts that have opened your emails etc.).

  • Go to “People” inside of your desired finished sequence

    • Click "Add filter" (Tip: You can name and save your filter for future use)

  • On the first property, select Bounces > Less than > 1

  • Add a new Property: Replies > Less than > 1

  • Add a new Property: Status: Opted Out > is>> False

  • Add a new Property: Email Validation Status > is > Valid

  • Add a new Property: Email Validation Status > is > Risky

  • Add a new Property: Opens >> One or More

  • Click “Save” so the filter can be available for future campaigns

  • Click “Apply

Step 3:

  • Select all contacts that are populated from your new filter

  • Select "Move to Sequence" in the contact menu

  • Select your new check-back sequence and choose your desired settings

  • Turn your new check-back sequence on
